What a program site includes
- A noxious weed library with photos, class and control notes, generated from a data file.
- A live weed map reading the program's own EDDMapS or ArcGIS records.
- Reporting and contact forms with spam defences, and a calendar when events matter.
- Editing by staff where it is wanted: Summit CWMA runs on Payload CMS, with every page's text and photos editable and no developer needed.
- Old WordPress addresses redirected, and a browsable archive of the previous site kept for reference.
- Hosting on our Plesk server: Let's Encrypt certificates, mailboxes or forwards with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, daily malware scans, backups.
Sites in service
Sanpitch CWMA, Northern Utah CWMA, Summit CWMA, Squarrose CWMA and the Utah Weed Supervisors Association, along with the Island Park Sustainable Fire Community in Idaho and small businesses that wanted the same thing: a fast site, their own mail done right, and nobody to call when it breaks because it does not.
Questions we are asked
- Can we edit the site ourselves?
- Yes, two ways. A small CMS such as Payload lets staff edit text and swap photos in a browser. A static site is edited through its data files, which we can do for you on a retainer or hand to anyone comfortable with a text file.
- What about our old content?
- We keep a browsable, frozen copy of the previous site so nothing is lost, and the old addresses redirect to their new homes.
- Can you move our email too?
- Yes. Mailboxes or forwards, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up correctly so your mail stops landing in spam.
