A county weed site that reads EDDMapS live

Nine pages, 69 weed profiles, a live map with class and species filters, and three forms. Static, no CMS, nothing to patch, and the map is never more than an hour behind the field.

The problem

The CWMA's WordPress site had been compromised, its weed pages were hard to maintain, and the county's own EDDMapS records were invisible to the public it serves.

What we built

A static site generated from data files: every Utah noxious weed with photos, class and control notes, a weed-law page, grant assistance, and a reporting form that lands in the coordinator's inbox and a CSV archive. The weed map queries the Utah SIIPA layer on EDDMapS live, paints a bundled snapshot first so it is never blank, and filters by class, status and species.

What it changed

Nothing to log into, nothing to update, nothing to hack. The map shows 1,500+ county reports the day they are filed, and the site runs on our servers with the certificate, mail and backups handled.
